November’s “Do It for a Cause” spotlight celebrates an incredible organization shaping the next generation of Southeast Missouri — the Boys & Girls Club of the Heartland in Poplar Bluff, Missouri.
We are proud to donate $3,000 to support their mission of helping local youth reach their full potential as productive, caring, and responsible citizens.

A Safe Place Where Futures Begin
The Boys & Girls Club of the Heartland provides a safe, positive, and engaging environment for children from kindergarten through high school. Their mission is simple but powerful: to enable all young people, especially those who need support the most, to grow into successful, confident adults.
Every day after school, the Club’s dedicated staff and volunteers create a warm, uplifting space where kids can learn, play, and build character. Through Power Hour, students receive help with homework and tutoring support. Healthy snacks and meals keep them fueled, while activities in arts, sports, fitness, and leadership help nurture their creativity, teamwork, and confidence.
From character development to education and career guidance, the Club ensures every child feels seen, valued, and capable.
More Than a Program – A Community
The Boys & Girls Club of the Heartland is much more than a building. It’s a safe haven — a place where laughter fills the halls, creativity blossoms, and lifelong friendships form.
Their programs include:
Power Hour: Dedicated time for academic support and tutoring.
Healthy Habits: Nutrition and physical wellness programs.
Torch & Keystone Clubs: Youth leadership programs promoting service and teamwork.
Arts & Crafts: Creative outlets to explore imagination and self-expression.
Sports & Recreation: Daily activities to encourage teamwork and healthy living.
With the help of staff and volunteers who lead with love, this organization provides consistent support to hundreds of local kids each year.
Every day, over 15 million children nationwide leave school with no place to go. The Boys & Girls Club is changing that — right here in our community.
