This month, we’re proud to shine a spotlight on Haven House Women’s Shelter, an organization that provides life-saving support to women and children facing domestic violence and sexual assault in the Poplar Bluff region. Their services go far beyond emergency shelter — they offer counseling, advocacy, safety planning, and long-term assistance to help families rebuild their lives with compassion and strength.

A Refuge for the Brokenhearted
Haven House has been a cornerstone resource in Butler County and for those in Southeast Missouri for years, offering protection, stability, and empowerment for families escaping dangerous situations. Their programs are designed to support survivors at every stage of recovery.
24-Hour Crisis Hotline: Call 573-686-5064 anytime to speak with an advocate trained to help those experiencing domestic or sexual violence.
The Shelter: Provides a safe haven with 31 beds for individuals and families displaced by violence.
Support Groups: Held Monday–Friday at 10 a.m. to help survivors find healing, encouragement, and strength through shared experiences.
Outreach Services: Offer household essentials, hygiene items, safety planning, and referrals to community resources.
Court Advocates: Assist survivors with protection orders, safety planning, legal accompaniment, and Crime Victims Assistance applications.
Batterers’ Intervention Program: A court-mandated rehabilitation program for convicted offenders to promote accountability and behavior change.
Parenting After Divorce Classes: Help parents establish healthy co-parenting strategies to support their children’s wellbeing.
Each program plays a vital role in breaking cycles of abuse and empowering individuals to live free from fear.

You can also make a difference through donations or volunteer support:
Donate gently used household furnishings, linens, toys, and seasonal clothing.
Provide canned food, coffee, condiments, and personal hygiene products.
Ask event caterers to drop off leftover meals for shelter residents.
Mail tax-deductible donations to P.O. Box 4875, Poplar Bluff, MO 63902.
✨ Donations are accepted Monday–Friday, 8 a.m.–4 p.m. at Haven House.
Every gift — large or small — helps restore safety and dignity to survivors in need.
